NOW THAT YOU'VE SEEN WHO'S GOT THE BEST PLAYERS AT EACH POSITION (OR IN MY CASE, THE WORST PLAYERS) HERE ARE SOME FANCY, HARD TO UNDERSTAND CHARTS THAT ARE COOL TO LOOK AT, BUT MAY TAKE A MINUTE TO FIGURE OUT. I WILL DO MY BEST TO EXPLAIN WHAT THE'RE ALL ABOUT.
HERE IS THE 1ST CHART. THIS SHOWS THE TOTAL POINTS SCORED IN THE EFFL BY POSITION. IT SURPRISED ME TO SEE THAT WIDE RECEIVERS HAVE SCORED THE MOST POINTS SO FAR THIS YEAR. (It would be interesting to see how this worked out in past years - possibly an idea for a future STAT OF THE WEEK).
OK, SO THAT ONE WASN'T HARD TO UNDERSTAND. MY RABBITS COULD FIGURE THAT ONE OUT. CHART #2 IS A LITTLE MESSIER.
HERE IS THE SECOND CHART. THIS CHART SHOWS THE POINTS THAT EACH TEAM HAS SCORED BY POSITION. I GUESS THIS ONE ISN'T THAT HARD TO FIGURE OUT EITHER.
IF YOU NOTICE THAT LITTLE "0" STICKING OUT IN QUENTIN'S KICKERS BAR, THAT IS THERE BECAUSE HE HASN'T SCORED ANY POINTS AT THE TIGHT END POSTION YET (it looks like Bubba Franks was a bust).
MOST VALUABLE PLAYER
Here are the Most Valuable Players for each team. The players are ranked by their percentage of the team's total points. The whole point is: should the league MVP (in real life) go to someone like Kurt Warner where everyone on the team is good, such as Faulk, Bruce, etc, or should it go to someone who may not be as good as any of those three players, but is more important to his team, such as Marcus Robinson of the Bears or Emmitt Smith of the Cowboys or Ricky Williams of the Saints (making him truly the MVP)?
I thought it would be interersting to see which player was most important for anyone's team, but it turned out that Peyton Manning, who has the most points in the EFFL, also has the highest percentage of his team's points. It's not until Nick's team with Stephen Davis (who is 8th leading scorer in the EFFL, yet the 3rd most important player to a team) that the order was mixed up. This ranking is the closest the EFFL comes to facing that real life situation.
