WEEK 6 STAT OF THE WEEK
As we all have seen, Geoff Drewyor's Love Machine is on a tear, starting the season at 6-0. Well, it turns out that the last time anybody started 6-0 was in the EFFL's inaugural season in 1993 when Brad Drewyor's team started 6-0. Brad's team lost the following week 65-25 to Brian Losey's team, who ended up winning the EFFL Super Bowl that year. So the Juan Valdez Love Machine will go for a record 7-0 start next week against division rival, the People's Champs.
Another stat that jumps out at you is Geoff's 1030 points so far this season. The record for points in a season was set by Geoff in 1995, when he scored 2366 points during the regular season. At his current pace, Geoff would set a new EFFL record by scoring 2403 points.
The final stat that may amaze people is Kurt Warner's 350 points so far this season. Yes, that is a record. Nobody has ever scored that many points by week 6 before. The closest to 350 by week 6 was Brett Favre in 1996 when he had 321 points at this time. It is even remarkable to consider that Warner actually had 350 points after week 5 since the Rams had an off week this week. At his current pace, Warner would demolish the EFFL record of 646 set by Brett Favre in 1995 by scoring a whopping 817 points. Last week, Warner was on pace to score 980 points on the season, but that is a little misleading because of the bye week.
